Now we can access the local Ubuntu Repository though hotspots that available in our campus, ITN Malang. 😀
I have tried it from my friend’s laptop. I installed Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat, and then tried to access the repository from Kantin-AP. Hhhmmm.. It went smoothly, but the speed .. Just like download it from Internet.. So slow.. (max speed, if I recall, is 35 KBps) A little slow for a local access, I think ..
But It’s okay, since it’s free and we could access it everytime we wants. Beside of Ubuntu repository, there also some Linux isos (Linux ISO files) and materials (books) from Onno W. Purbo (We got it after Mr. Onno speaking in our seminar, few months ago). You can download it freely 😀
The repository could be accessed from this address :
If you don’t know how to add the repo, simply follow this guide :
First, open Software Source from menu System > Administrations > Software Sources
Second, select tab “Other Software“, and then click on the “Add” button.
Third, copy paste this line into the text-box :
deb http://192.168.40.25/ubuntu maverick main restricted universe multiverse
Close, and then reload the repository . Wait until it finished downloading the repository indexes. Once it finished, you could install any application though Ubuntu Software Centre, Synaptics Packages Manager, or Terminal (apt-get command).
Yah, I hope this Repository could be useful for us, especially for our major, Informatics Engineering. hehehe..
GO OPEN SOURCE !!! \(^^)/
