Ubuntu Development Team has just released Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat Release Candidate, the successor of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx which has been released about 6 months ago.
So, what’s new in this release ??
Beside the stability and compatiblity for larger number of hardwares, Maverick offers some new things in its GUI. Well said, one of them is the use of Ubuntu-Font-Family as the default fonts instead of Sans. As for now, it comes with free license.
An interim, free licence for the Ubuntu Font Family.
Canonical are working with SFLC and SIL on a revision of the OFL with the intent of adopting that revision for a future version of the Ubuntu Font Family. This Ubuntu Font Licence serves as an interim licence until that is complete.
So, how it looks ?? Don’t you get a little curious ?? :p Wanna try it ? If so, just check out this page …
Don’t know how to install it ?
Simply double-click the .ttf files, and then click the “Install Font” button on the bottom right of the Font Viewer window.
